"The only thing to fear is fear itself!"

I finished a follow up interview with Sports Illustrated for Kids (SIKIDS) in the summer 2009.   My interview can be found in the SIKIDS August 2009 Issue.

Also, in June of 2009, I was in Delaware (The First State) for a BMX Racing National and a television interview with NBC Universal Sports.  The reporter who did the interview was from Sports Illustrated for Kids (Jeremy Smith 15-years old).   The interview aired on Versus TV in November of 2009 and can be viewed anytime on www.Go211.com under Bmx Racing.

Brocks Junior High Baseball Team Undefeated!

My Junior High Baseball Team won the Arizona East Valley Conference Baseball Championship.  We finished the season undefeated!   I played third base and was the teams lead-off hitter.

I also play baseball for the USSSA AZ Blaze Blue's 13u Majors Team.  We just won the Nations II Wood Bat baseball tournament in Mesa, AZ.   A couple of weeks ago we made it to the quarter finals (out of 32-teams from the U.S.A) in the USSSA 13U Majors Spring Nationals Super NIT.  Along with playing Baseball, I'm currently playing Volleyball for my Junior High team.  I  still race BMX bikes for the American Bicycle Association's National Champion Team "Intense-Phantom On-Trac" and the National Bicycle League's National Champion Team "GT-Bikes."

Earlier in the year, my Junior High Basketball team also won the Arizona East Valley Conference Championship.  We finished the season with only one loss. I played the 5-position on offense and defense.

I'm looking forward to the Spring Season.   Lots and Lots of Baseball!

Hello!  I’m Brock "The Rock" Heffron, the “First Ever” SIKIDS (Sports Illustrated for Kids) Youth Athlete of the Year.

In July of 2009, I had the priviledge to race at the UCI BMX World Championships held in Adelaide, Australia.  I won my 3rd straight World Title with a win on my Class Bike.  I also won my 1st World Title on my Cruiser Bike.   I'm ranked #1 in the World for 12-Year Olds on my Class and Cruiser Bikes.  In May of 2008, I competed in the UCI BMX Racing World Championships held in Taiyuan, China.  I defended my 2007 World Title with a win in the main event and retained my #1 in the World Ranking for the 11-Boys Challenge Class.  I also finished 2nd (#2 World Ranking) in the 12 and under Boys Cruiser Class.  I was the only 11-year old to make the main event.

In March of 2009, I defended my U.S.A. #1 Ranking with my 3rd consecutive U.S.A Championship Title, at the 2009 BMX Racing U.S.A. National Cycling Championship (Desoto, Texas) in the 12-year old Challenge Class.  I also won the 2009 USA Championship for the 12 and Under Age group for the Cruiser Bike Class.

One of my most amazing cultural experiences  occurred while playing Baseball in the Dominican Republic!
I was in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in November of 2008.  I played baseball for a U.S.A. Select Baseball Team at the Dominican Baseball Classic.

My week included a daily camp conducted by some of the top Coaches in the Dominican Pro League along side College Coaches and Pro Scouts from the USA. After my daily workouts, I played in many games against some of the top Dominican Baseball Programs.  Some of the games and practices were located at "Baseball City", a Major League Baseball Training facility, located minutes from the Hamaca Resort and Spa where I stayed. When I wasn't playing baseball, I went to Pro or Rookie league games to experience baseball in the Caribbean. Two of my days, I spread goodwill (donated uniforms, gloves, bats, balls etc) while working out at local baseball facilities with the Dominican Youth Programs.   I also toured the Christopher Columbus Museum.  If you ever get the opportunity to play for a U.S.A. Select Baseball Team in the Dominican, Republic, "it's an amazing cultural experience that can't be missed."   I'll be teamed up with another U.S.A. Select Baseball Team this summer in Omaha, Nebraska.  I'll be playing in a Baseball Tournament and attending the College World Series.   I'm looking forward to practicing and playing with the team. Remember, "the only thing to fear is fear itself!"

As for other sports, I play travel Baseball, Basketball and Football.  This past summer I played in the State Baseball Tournament with the 11-year old Gilbert American Little League Baseball All Star Team.   We won the District Championship with an undefeated record of 5 wins 0 defeats.  I finished the District Tournament with a .833 batting average and a .850 on base percentage
